In 2018, China's textile and apparel exports were US$276.73 billion, up 3.7% year-on-year, and imports were US$26.14 billion, up 6.4% year-on-year.

In 2018, China's textile and apparel exports to the three major traditional markets of the European Union, the United States and Japan maintained growth, with increases of 1.5%, 8% and 2.7% respectively. In addition, exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” continued to grow for three consecutive years, with an increase of 5.3% in 2018 and an increase of 11.7% in ASEAN, with the fastest growth in all major markets.
In the first 11 months of last year, China’s textile and apparel products accounted for 36% of the US import market, down 0.4 percentage points from the same period in 2017, while Vietnam’s share was 10.6%, up 0.2 percentage points year-on-year. 33%, down 1% year-on-year, while Bangladesh's share was 14.3%, up 0.6 percentage points year-on-year; last year, China's import market share in Japan was 58%, down 3 percentage points year-on-year, while Vietnam's share was 12.6%, an increase of 1.4 percentage points year on year.
